The Women's Crusade
The writers' argument focuses on women around the world being aided through things like education to improve poor countries. They use many different examples of ways women's lives and communities have been improved. The women's stories cater to the pathos of the article and the authors' personal experience contribute to their ethos. The argument is presented as a series of examples of women being aided mixed in with facts about men and women in different parts of the world.
From the Living Room to the Courtroom
The writer makes an argument about justice especially for women under Islamic law. The writer uses several examples from cases she has experience with to establish her ethos. To build her argument she starts with the story of Leila Fathi, then tells of what happened with the case. Pathos is established through the stories especially dealing with the family of Leila and their struggle for justice.
